Recently, there have been commercials regarding swanking and its role in South Africa. There has been a documentary about it. However, the audio is in Zulu and the subtitles in Danish. (neither do I have a talent in)
Swanking reminds me of Sundays in front of the Baptist church. The colors, the styles, the pride in what is worn. According to the commercial, there is a code of ethics for swankers (or swenkas). Respect for oneself and how you are viewed by the public. There is something to be said for that.
